Believe it or not, it wasn't a kid who died playing Starcraft. It was, like, a 30 year old man. Who was clearly even more retarded.
Y'see, liking celebrities and wanting to know news about them I can understand. Let's say you like him/her in this movie. That's alright. So, let's say you want to know news about him/her. That's fine and dandy. But the news should be about what movies they're going to be in next. Not what they were wearing when they were cooking burgers on their grill. Now, I can understand Paris going to jail being an important slice of news for a Paris Hilton fan (I don't know why she has fans. I'm not even quite sure what she DOES. It's not like she's a 5-star actor), and thus you should know if she's going to jail. IF it's for a long period of time.
But you don't need to know every detail about her jailtime. You don't need to see news reports about it on every channel every 10 minutes.
Liking celebrities has gotten way too far. You can like an actor for their role in a movie, or a singer for their music, but you shouldn't want to know anything about them OUTSIDE of that.

And people are paid to do it, and post pictures into magazines and onto sites.

thats because people have no lives. I mean who really cares if a celebrity takes a dump? They are strangers. Why do people care what a rich stranger does?

In one of my mom's magazines (probably Entertainment Weekly or something of that sort) I saw that there's actually a section of the magazine titled "Celebrities are just like us," which has pictures of celebrities when they're in the pool, selecting a flavor of Snapple to buy, taking out trash, or walking their dog. Why would ANYONE be so interested in that?! No crap celebrities are just like us! They're human too! I don't see what makes them so interesting.
Oh my god they have money. Then again, you'd have money too if you weren't snapping pictures of rich strangers throwing out last night's dinner.
