Since Blizzard announced Starcraft II, I started missing this game more and more, and so I spent some of my birthday money on a Starcraft Battle Chest.(For those who don't know, it's a box containing Starcraft, Broodwar expansion, and stradegy guides for both.) I'm kinda rusty at the moment, because the last time I played this, I was 9 or something and couldn't get past the last Terran mission. After at least beating the first disc, I'll try Battle.net.

I recently deleted starcraft from my comp so I could fit the first season of ranma 1/2.

I played that game a lot, but I was never actually good at it. I always got annihilated whenever I played a real match.
Turret defense was fun, though.

Zergling Swarms can be ammusing to watch if you make enough of them. They'll be even more ammusing in Starcraft 2 since they can now turn into little green bombs of doom.

More importantly, there's no limit on how many units you can select.
That was definitely a problem for me, having to send my army to attack my enemy 12 units at a time...

I should get Starcraft. I hear so much about it, and I'm quite the RTS fan myself. (Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Rise of Nations, etc.)

You should seriously get it. It made 1998's RTS of the year. (Possibly game of the year, but I think that might've been Diablo 2 or something. Not quite sure.) It's got a faster pace than most RTS games, so if you're looking for somehting like that, go ahead.

Fast pace, eh? Well, not really what I'm used. The games I listed above are more economy-based, and focus on you building a civilization and army.

Well in Starcraft, it's usually pure conquest. It really depends on what your mission is, but it usually has to do with annihilating the enemy. Except in the third mission where you just have to wait until the evacuation ships arrive(30 minutes). This is the very first mission where the player will experience a Zerg Swarm. No matter how good you are, you're going to get utterly creamed by a huge army of Zerg, only to have your ass saved at the last second. (Thank god you can move certain buildings.)
