And thus, peeps, this is one of the many reasons why I will never buy an MMO.

Why play Guild Wars? WoW steals souls and takes away your life because it's good and addicting. If Guild Wars doesn't steal peoples' lives...then it isn't as good. Not true. See the reason why WoW steals lives is because people feel obligated to play it as much as possible to justify spending money monthly. Guild Wars is a one time fee, for slightly worse graphics and a smaller world, and its just as good, and you don't have to feel obligated to play it every waking hour. Also, the level cap of Guild Wars is 20, which most people who don't play guild wars think sucks, but I see it as an advantage. Because you cap at lvl 20 theres no need to waste your life leveling so you can level again. Also because lvl 20 is the cap, you have to rely mostly on the skills that you choose and how well you can work as a team.

see, when one says no, they usually point out what they are saying no to.
Let me just clarify that I do not think that wow is bad, at all. I think its an awesome game that steals peoples lives. But Guild Wars is just as good and you don't have to pay monthly, so you can enjoy it, and not get sucked in.

You prove valid points..
But what if someone played WoW and Guild Wars and decided WoW was better? Most people play WoW accepting the fact it sucks their life in.
And I know Guild Wars is good and one-time-fee. I'm just saying...it isn't as popular as WoW. Though it is pretty close. Everquest II (III?) is the closest the thing to WoW, last time I checked. Which was a while ago.

Actually I heard that Guild Wars is right under WoW, but that was just hearsay.
Edit: Okay, the all knowing source of Wikipedia has an entry: Guild Wars has been well received by critics and players alike. In 2005, it won several prestigious awards including IGN's Best PC RPG[15] and GameSpy's MMORPG of the Year[16] awards. In 2006 Computer Games Magazine listed Guild Wars as #4 in their Best Game collection, giving it in addition the Best MMO Debut and Best Technology awards.[citation needed] Guild Wars has been listed in every major Editors' Choice category in both print and online publications.
