As the sun of the Beast World begins to rise of the peaceful forest of Domestica, the breezy morning air becomes a mixture of cheerfulness and excitement. The cobblestone streets of the villages begin to fill up with stands and tents full of games, accessories, and food derived from a variety of meat and vegetables.
The eco-friendly inhabitants of the forest are up bright and early, cooking breakfast, their hearts racing as the scent of excitement reaches their nose from the cracks in the windows. Families can hardly wait for the "Years Wake" festival to begin. Their pups, cubs, and kittens are all impatient, begging their parents to hurry up and finish so they can head to the streets to celebrate the coming of a new year.
Marking this as the tenth year since their encounter with humans and other species outside the Beast Worlds, Lila, a Cyber Cleric currently representing the Ny-bold race of Domestica, has allowed some of the species from other worlds to participate in the coming of the new year. She is a caleco breed with a white nose, black lower lip, and an orange patch of fur surrounding her right eye. Her cape has the symbol of the beast world, but with a large leaf crossed in front of it.
As she perches on the roof of her summer cottage, watching the festival grow to popularity among those of the familiar, and those just visiting, her ears perk at the sudden smell of a familiar scent and turns around to see two people appear behind her, a human with glasses and a black, long tailed, gakuran uniform, and a Lionel with only a human-size mane tied back in a tight ponytail, wearing the same outfit as Lila, but with the Beast World symbol bearing a caveman-like drawing of a runnin bison.
"Ah, Hajime, Hot-Blood," Lila said, turning to face them, "I'm so grateful you two came at this important time of year."
"It is the start of a new year," Hot-Blood said, "I would not wish to miss it."
Hajime looks around a bit in suspicion, "Are you sure it's safe to let all nations back in here?" Lila scratches her right ear, causing it to twitch, as she purrs nervously.
"Hmm.... Yeah," she murmurs, "I remember what happened the first year we tried to invite all nations to join in our festivities. Pesky protesters; they nearly set the village on fire when the Dragonair tried to incinerate some of the braty kids from the Black Wind nation." she stops scratching her right ear and holds her finger up with confidence, "But we've been discussing over the coming years how we can handle the situation so the same incident doesn't happen again this year."
"You seem confident," Hot-Blood said, stroking his furry chin, "What is this idea you and the land of the forest settled upon."
"We probably can't stop visitors from other nations from visiting other villages, so we devised to split them in half. Those with the FSA are invited when the sun shines in the west, those against will be invited when the sun shines in the east, and those who have respect for both sides will be invited when the sun passes over the north and south sides of the planet. That way, there will be no conflict and everyone can celebrate the coming of a new year in peace."
Hajime sighs a bit as he looks back down at the festival still setting up, "I want to say that this idea might work, but I still have my doubts. There's no telling who might get impatient and want to invade east or west during the day just to see what's going on."
"I can understand your concern, Hajime, and I know telling you everything will be fine will do little to strengthen your confidence. But the villages on all sides of the planet are taking necessary precausion to make sure those who try to intrude on the wrong side of the planet will be escorted to where they belong, and wait until the sun passes over them before they can come out to join the festivities."
Hajime continues to sigh in unsurity as he continues to watch the festivals complete their stalls and theaters.
