This IS a Megaman forum.
At last, a true sequel to the classic Megaman series has been confirmed (mostly via Nintendo Power.) It's going back to its NES roots in almost every way possible:
- 8-bit graphics - 8-bit style music - 8 Robot Masters, each with their own theme and trap-filled lair. You can fight them in any order and the weapons you gain have advantages on others. -Simple, NES-like controls (Wiimote turned on its side), only using the control pad and 2 buttons for jump and fire. -Return of Rush, Dr. Light, Dr. Wily, and possibly others.
Not only is it retro, but it keeps up with current time. No need to worry about about dishing out 60 bucks for it, the cost (although unknown) will be fitting for the quality in Wii Points. It's downloadablefrom Wiiware exclusively. The story mixes things up by having Dr. Wily blame the robot-rampage on Dr. Light, so Megaman has to prove his "father"'s innocence. There's also short 8-bit cutscenes. Online leaderboards and downloadable content are a possibility.
It looks like we've got ourselves a good Megaman game.

Not to mention the fact that wily has gotten lonely. One of the robot masters is female.

Indeed. And then when people find out, he claims it's Dr. Light's.
Real mature.

Splash Woman. That's a first.
Can't wait to see some gameplay footage. We need more 2-D Megaman games, anyway.

I'm hoping for downloadable content of some sort. Maybe they can let you download classic Robot Masters and their levels, for those who don't have the original games and don't pirate it? Plus, then you could go through those levels with the MM9 weapons.

This sounds interesting. Seeing how the only Megaman games I've ever played were on a ROM, I might get this.

Splash Woman = 8-Bit Fanservice
I would put some money on the possibility that she becomes a love interest or Megaman doesn't kill her because she is a woman. Something cheesy.

a.k.a. something stupid. I really hope they don't do that. Story's okay, but it shouldn't interfere with killing the Robot Masters.

Well... Dr. Light did make a little girl... so Wily's not the only one with girl parts in his closet.
