Comic I have been tweaking with, one of the very first comic ideas I have ever come up with. My hiatus is thanks to this, and I have to say that it has shown some results. I have very good idea for several chapters of the comic. This is a rough draft, concept sketch, of three of the main characters from the comic. First to the left is Aest, a Draken, is a fallen chieftan of a Draken Tribe. Aest is strong enough to rip a building off its foundations. His race appeared in the world tens of thousands of years previously, when dragons left the sky and walked on land, according to human lore. They, of course, can use magic to grow wings and spew flames, but the magic is focused through their horns. If a Draken were to lose their horns, the lose all bonds to their dragon ancestory, according to Draken lore. Aest was on a solitary hunt when he found his brother, bleeding to death in a field. His brother warned him of an attack on their village. Aest returns to find a rogue Draken, Grimwing, amongst the flaming ruins of his village. I will leave his story at that for now. I will say, however, that Aest loses his eye. Father Leo, in the middle, is a travelling priest-knight of the Temple of Xlybian. He is the leader of the group, and his past is a mystery, even to him. The temple priests found Leo, in his late teens, staggering towards them in barely any clothing. He had amnesia, and the priests cared for him. He became a knight of the temple, and wanders the lands doing good deeds. Leo does this in an attempt to also find out who he was before he was found by the priests. He is hunted by 'demons of steel-skin'. Odamaru, to the right, is an assassin for hire. Odamaru has a reputation of being apathetic, narcisstic, and pessimistic. His business card says, "Odamaru, pessismistic ninja for hire. If it pays well, I will do it when I feel like it." Odamaru doesn't speak much about his past, and has nightmares whenever he falls asleep. Even though Odamaru is lazy, he only fakes sleeping, for he despises falling alseep. He takes drugs to keep himself awake. His insomnia doesn't affect his performance, however. His friends think that he feels guilty about something, and is the cause of his nightmares. Leo brings all thring together, meeting Aest first, and then Odamaru. They fight an unknown, faceless enemy, and demons of steel skin. These demons spew a foul smelling, black fume, and wield weapons that shoot metal. These demons are of course, robots, but they wouldn't know that. The weapons are obviously guns, if you haven't figured that out either.

Lost the sprites for the sprite comics, and sure as hell don't wanna make them again, Life Bytes is drawn on MS Paint, and god knows how little patience I have with that, and Skirge hasn't even been started at all.
The way I see it, Bane will be my way back into the comic scene. At least it is developed to some extent, unlike other comics out there which are most likely written and developed seconds before being posted.

Invest in a flash drive so you can back up your sprites.

You're concepts are all awesome concepts, but you should stick with one, or inter loop them. Like Have the chronicles of Skirge people be characters in it or something.
And the drawing is good, except Aest's hand is just kinda strange. Like the hand thats making the fireball is in a strange position.

Zaku, there is no point in investing into a flash drive, if I have already lost the sprites.
Nam, a crossover idea seems interesting. Kill two birds with one stone.. Make the Skirge cast the inept villians who always fuck up, and never do anything to the main cast... And give them their own story arks from time to time. Plus, they are aliens, so that solves one giant plothole.
About the arm, I just finished the concept, and then I realized I forgot Aest's right arm. So I snugged it in behind the axe, which is probably very uncomfortable.

And the drawing is good, except Aest's hand is just kinda strange. Like the hand thats making the fireball is in a strange position. Those were pretty much all the things I was gonna say. You've had a lot of good concepts in the past, but you never go far enough with that. On the other hand, that's a very common sort of scenario that happens to most webcomic authors. As for your drawing, your art has improved from the already-good-state it was in before. (Well, besides the hand thing Nam mentioned.) I'm intersted, and will probably read the comic when you start the pages.

Here is some background history to the Bane of Heroes universe.
Background History:
The age is unknown. The year is unknown. No one knows that nearly nine thousand years ago, a grand war took place in the years 2500 A.D. through 2999 A.D., a war between the Alliance of Races, against the Machines of Paradox.
The war started on Valentine's Day in 2500 A.D., bombs were detonated in major metropolian areas across the globe. The four Grand Capitals of the races were spared, only because the terrorists failed in destroying them.
The Land of the West, where the Humans reside, is the most technologically advanced. The capital of their land is Torreggi Metallo, and is the envy of the other races. This city is where the Senate building resides, and where representitives of every intelligent race and nation come to take part in the politics of the world. Of course, they never get anything done. Merchants flock here to use the humans' immense materialistic needs for their advantage. The Humans take pride in their Troopers, cyborgs made for combat and warfare. Advanced troopers are perfect clones, and only twelve of these troopers are left. Cloning was outlawed by the Senate, but the Humans keep several cloning stations active from time to time...
The Land of the North, where the Goblins reside, is a rural nation with no need for technology. The Goblin capital is Campi Acqua, and large city built on an island. The Goblins produce much of the produce for the world, and no one knows, or cares why. For the stuff is really damn good. It is believed in Elven Lore that the Goblins were born from the dirt and weeds, and as such, have a green thumb. The Goblins have pride in their Hobs, Goblins bred for combat. The Hobs, or Hobgoblins, are known to even be able to rival a Draken in strength, but not their nasty temper.
The Land of the East, where the Elves reside, is a mystical land filled with forests and exotic landscape. The Elven capital is Palazzo Alberi, which has the Tree of Birth growing at its center. Schools of philophosy and wizardry are in the Elven capital, and because of this, the Elves consider themselves more cultured and intelligent that the other races. The pride of their army are their sniper units, able to go months without food, and able to pick off a horsefly several miles away. The Elves have had harsh relations with the Drakens, and have had several wars with them. The slender, intelligent Elves can barely stand the massive, brutish Drakens. They despise their guerilla tactics, and large explosives, which show no regard for nature.
The Land of the South, where the mighty Drakens reside, is a land of flames and heat. The Drakens have developed thick hides, and can swim in molten rock, which they frequently do. Their capital is Forte Fiamme, a fortress city with defenses that are nigh impossible to defeat. It is here that the Drakens turn their flames against their enemies, creating plasma and fire weapons. These weapons can only be used by Drakens, not only because of the intense heat the weapons produce, but because the weapons draw power from the mystical powers of the Draken ancestory. The pride of the Draken Army are the grenadiers. Two or three grenadiers have been known to wipe out entire cities, their firepower is unmatched. However, their bulking weapons make them slow, making them easy targets. The Drakens have had a long rivalry with Elves, considering them cowardly to hide and shoot from a distance.
Paradox was a Human scientist who grew tired of society, and his weak, feeble body. He began to perform strange experiments on himself, and created a vast army of robots. Each robot knew the anatomy of the Four Races, or the Original Races. His robots proved to be a threat when they began to attack cities across the globe. Humans, Goblins, Elves, and Drakens banded together for the first time to fight Paradox's evil machines. The war came to a climax when the Alliance forces began to push back the Machines, but that was when Paradox used a gravity cannon placed on Mars to launch the moon Daimos at Earth. Nearly all of life was wiped out, and the days before what became known as 'Judgement Day', by what could be considered survivors, were soon forgotten.
A new society was born. Humans, Goblins, Elves, and Drakens began to repopulate the planet. New races like Trolls, Ogres, and Daemons began to populate the planet as well. Paradox was forgotten with the previous civilization, but some astronomers believe they see something on the dusty surfaces of Mars, something that looks as if someone or something thrives there.
Thousands of years of progression brought the world to a Middle Age, and Demons of Steel-Skin have begun to plaque the lands. Searching, hunting, for something.

Info on the races of the comic. I will post info on the races periodically, instead of all at once. First off, an original race I created for the comic, the Drakens. (Pronounced Dray-k-in, not Drah-k-in.)
Drakens:
The Drakens are a sentient race that live primarily in the Land of the South. The Land of the South, or called "Dromis ik Increplums Fiamme", in English it is roughly translated to "Home of the Waxing Flame", was once a vast jungle. According to Draken Lore, Dragons from the Land of the East escaped here from the Elves. Their god, Valde Estus, "The Great Heat" in English, spared these Dragons, and gave them the ability to walk upright. The Dragons left the skies, and walked on land. This was when the Drakens were born.
The Draken culture revolves around hunting and fighting. They are a very violent people, but don't believe in wasteful violence. Wasteful violence, as described with the Drakens, is fighting without a cause or purpose. Any squabble in a bar will eventually end up in the local arena, where much blood is usually shed. Drakens are not artistic, or sophisticated, male Drakens usually aspire to be great hunters, warriors, or gladiators when they get older. Female Drakens aspire the same thing, but mostly aspire to be wed to a strong male, mostly for bragging rights.
The Draken military is feared by the other three nations, for it has the greatest firepower. Drakens who enroll in the military are either enrolled as 'Heavy' or 'Stealth'. The large Draken males are trained to smash their opponents to bits, or blow them up into a fine paste. They wear armor that weighs four tons, and carry canisters on their backs that weigh five tons each. These canisters have ammunition for their weapons. Those who wish to use melee, use either a two ton hammer, or a one ton battle-axe. All of their weapons are ponderous to the other races, but the Drakens' strength is infinitely superior. The Heavy Drakens, however, are very slow, and are easy targets for snipers. Stealth units are light-weight male Drakens and female Drakens. These Drakens are fast, and tend to use their Draken powers in combat. Stealth Drakens normally use melee weapons, and are taught to sneak up and attack their enemies from behind.
Male Drakens are usually 6'5'' to 7'8'' when they reach a mature age. A female Draken is usually 5'4'' to 6'5'' when they reach a mature age. A male Draken hits puberty when his horns begin to grow, and muscles begin to increase at an alarming rate. Female Drakens hit puberty when they beginning to grow a tail, and fins on their faces. Male Drakens have more of a dragon-like appearance facially, while female Drakens can be mistaken for female Elves. Beacue of the female Draken's Human/Elven-like appearance, the Drakens are very protective of their daughters and wives, because they fear that Elves and Humans will try to take them as their own. The male Drakens also grow a protective plate-like hide on their chest, comprised of scales which are nigh impossible to damage or destroy. Female Drakens don't have scales, but still have a tough, flame and heat resistence.
The Drakens have special powers that, according to Draken lore, are focused through their horns, and occasionally their mane. Drakens with large horns, and long, extravagant manes are highly respected. It is said in Draken lore, that if a Draken were to lose his or her horns, he or she will lose all of his or her powers. These powers are manipulation over fire, the ability to breath fire, and the ability to sprout wings. Draken horns are highly prized by the Black Market, and are said to cure any disease with combine with Elf blood, and turned into a fine paste. Draken Hunters kill Drakens, and take their horns. Horns removed from a dead Draken is an immense insult and crime in their culture.
The Elves and Drakens have been rivals for the longest time. According to Draken Lore, the Human king, the Goblin king, the Elf king, and the Draken king, Ashbreath were sitting around a dinner table at a conference. The Elven king, Vos Teers, said to the Draken king, Ash-Breath, that the Draken women are beautiful. The Draken king thanked him on the compliment, but the Elven king then said, "But they stink of an Orc's armpit". This enraged the Draken king, and he attacked and killed the Elven king. The Elves, of course, deny this and have their own version of the story. Both races have hated each other since that day.

From what I hear you have the same problem I once did (or perhaps still have). To many ideas, so much enthousiasm. It is bound to be a comic to look forward to and such. As for the overloead of info, spend parts of the comic to explain only the most relevant things.

Humans:
The Humans have come the longest way of the four races. In the years following several Civil Wars amongst themselves in the Land of the West, one human brought all others together. This human was very holy, following the words of Xlybian, the only god the humans believe in. The name of this human has been lost through time, but a statue of him stands in the courtyard of the Senate building in Torreggi Metallo.
The humans have the greats technology and weapons amongst the four races, to compensate for their lack of abilities. The Drakens have their strength and flames, the Elves have their magic and wisdom, the Goblins have their numbers and determination, but the Humans have nothing. In Human lore, it is said that the god Xlybian gave Humans the greatest minds, so they could defend themselves. It is also said that the Humans, and their superior minds, created fire before the Drakens. The Drakens deny this to this very day.
Human weapons are mainly ballistic, mainly because Humans have a vast abundance of metal. Many Humans are alchemists, and work with metals constantly. Unlike alchemists of other races, Human alchemists do not care to create gold or the Elixer of Life, but for the sake of hard, durable metals. Human metals are the strongest on the entire planet, so strong that Drakens have trouble pummeling the stuff. Humans stockpile weapons and armor made from their prized metals in the event of a great war. Humans also create tanks, and other vehicles for the purpose of war.
Human tactics are vastly superior to the other races. Their vast intellect attribute to this fact. In the Orc War of 2346, Humans obliterated that Orcs in under a year. Respect for the Human army rapidly increased after the final Orc was killed; an entire civilization destroyed. Basic infantry are known as 'Troopers', who wield assualt rifles fitted with a grenade launcher. This grenade launchers are not as powerful as a Draken's, but fire a wide variety of small capsules to either surprise or obliterate the enemy. Heavy infantry or 'Skulls' are large, bulking cyborgs that stand taller than a Draken. They wield large weapons, such as chainguns, rocket launchers, and the famous plasma pincer. The plasma pincer is the pinnacle of Human weaponry. A large rotating disk is placed on a Skull's armor. The disk has rails on the sides, which two ion cannons travel along. One Skull with a plasma pincer can level a city. Humans seldomly use this weapon.
Spiritually, Humans believe in one, and only one god, Xlybian. However, Humans lost their spirituality, and have begun to use science to disprove Gods and the other races' abilities. Humans believe that a Draken's horns produce hydrogen for their fire abilities, and that a Elf uses ultra-sonic waves instead of 'magic'. The Goblins, they believe, use special chemicals to create their plants and vegetables. This has, of course, put the Humans on rough terms with the other three races.
Human males are basically 5'5'' to 6'4'' when they reach their mature age. Human males hit puberty when they gain slight muscle tone, and experience changes in voice and body. Since Humans have the shortest life span, this occurs earlier in their race than other races. Human females are basically 5'3'' to 6'0'' when they reach their mature age. Human females hit puberty when they gain a curved figure, their bust and hips start growing. Unlike other races, Human males and females are not treated as equals. Human males become soldiers, politicians, warriors, scientists, while Human females are left to become wives and mothers. Elves pity the Human females because of the way they are treated in the Human society.
The Humans are rapidly losing respect by the other three races, due to their extremities in science. Humans conduct experiments on Drakens, Goblins, Elves, and Humans alike. They created a vast army with clones of twelve strong warriors who died during experiments. Disemboweled bodies, ripped limbs, disected heads, all and other sort of sick experiments were discovered by senators from the Draken and Goblin nations. The Senate has placed a law against inhumane experiments to stop these deprived and sickening tortures. However, the Humans' need for knowledge doesn't stop them in their ambitions.

Fluff is good. Don't wanna get into this thing without a solid background.
Besides, I was going to do a prologue chapter that takes place during the war the planet nearly gets destroyed in. It would be good to have a solid idea of how the civilizations were like before Mars' moon hit Earth.
