Now I know some of you aren't really cool with the whole new RP that now takes place in the boards. Well guess what? This new event will take us back to the old days!
God from the Machine deals with the Hephaestus who has traveled back in time to kill Rockman and prevent him from defeating Sunstar. RP characters from both the current RP and the old 20XX RP can participate in this event. If you see a topic that begins with the title, "God from the Machine", it is a part of the RP Event.
Here is the premise to God from the Machine:
In 21XX, the Hephaestus was unleashed upon the world by Sunstar, the tyrannical leader of the powerful Stardroid fleet. The behemoth was to be used to destroy the Earth, however, through a combined effort of RockX and Scythe, the beast was slain.
The Hephaestus has since then been a plague upon the planet. In 23XX, Copy X accidently revived the Hephaestus from its slumber, requiring the Lord of Change to intervene before it could do anymore harm. Everyone thought that the mighty God had erased the Hephaestus from history...
When the Elementals came to be, the Biometal, Model HE, was discovered by the Mortician, a sadistic reploid who seeks power and revenge in the name of his creator. Model HE was the remnants of the Hephaestus that made contact with Ragnarök. The more malice the Mortician poured into Model HE, the stronger the Biometal became. Eventually, it became sentient, and decided that its current owner was not worthy of his power.
Since then, the Hephaestus has been a major role in the power struggle in the world today. He made several attempts to destroy the planet. The first, he tried to use the combined powers of the Elementals to make him stronger. The second time, he created a pact with Titan and tried to unleashed the hidden weapons of Star Haven upon Earth.
The Hephaestus allied himself with the Cursed only to see his own goals through. The Cursed, however, were suspicious of the android, and kept a careful eye on him. The Thirteen eventually discovered what its intentions were, and set out to destroy the Hephaestus. However, the mighty warriors of the Cursed were not quick enough, and the Hephaestus escaped into the past.
Now, the Cursed and the Knights of Xylbian face a common enemy. Will they turn their hatred aside and fight for the future of their world? The Hephaestus hides now somewhere in 20XX, and it is up to both the warriors of the future and the past to defeat the Hephaestus, the God from the Machine.

Not that it wouldn't be shown, but here's a small summery of what's going on with EN and Blazkrieg concerning the event currently in action:
Both have decided to help Xyilbian and the Cursed stop the Hephaestus, but only Ryuta, Shinta, Kaoru and Atsushi will join them in the past.
Hayato and Hajime decided to stay in the present, agreeing that their high intelligence would be more of a problem than a helping hand; though Hayato will stick around to monitor the events from the old dimentional room in the ruins of Eastern Hunter Base.
Hajime has more reasons to staying in the past than just the hinderance of his intellegence. Not only is he trying to get an audience with the Time Elemental, but Kaoru, suspicious of Altus' behavior, has asked him to keep a spiritual watch on him and make sure he doesn't try to jump into the past for the sole purpose of protecting the Hephaestus. That, and Hajime hopes to gain the same essence abilities that were given to Ryuta during his encounter with Hex in Draconis. Hajime, however, has given Ryuta a prob shaped like a robot panda, designed to help him keep tabs on the past without physically being there.
Ittetsu refused to go because he feels he's still needed in the Draken estate in case the Grim Wings try to take advantage of Aest's absence to dominate his village. There has been no word as to whether Kai's going or not, but Ryuta suspects he's gone off to get the same essence that Hajime is currently hunting for. And Tsuyoshi, as usual, is hell bent against coming out of the houseboat to help anyone.
Kenshin (Because Zaku hasn't done anything to the "Seeking Life" thread), is still stuck in Antartcia with J and Chieftain, trying to help the Love Elemental figure out why everyone is against her so suddenly.

Some more background to the event-
Book of Rapture:
The Book of Rapture is an ancient Stardroid tome that is disguised as a book on Greek mythology. The tome tells of the end of times and the arrival of the 'Dark One'.
"When Tarturus becomes so full that the dead begin to walk the Earth, the Dark One will rise once again. The Dark One will usher in an age of death and doom, and will reign for all eternity unless the Warriors of Life return to stop him. These Warriors of Life will fail, however, if He is allowed to die."
This is the only message that some of the old Stardroids have been able to decipher; much the the tomes contents are written in a language that is well before the time of anyone on Earth. It is ambiguous, and many Stardroids believe the Dark One is the Hephaestus, and that the Warriors of Life are the Knights of Xylbian, a religious sect that worships the Elemental of Life. The first line is translated as a reference to the Cursed, which is an army of undead. Ergo, the Stardroids believe that the Hephaestus will try to conquer the world once and for all by using the war with the Cursed as a cover. They do not, however, know what 'He' refers to. They assume it could refer to either Thyrr or Altus. Thyrr because he is the leader of the Cursed, and Hephaestus may fear his power. Altus because he is the descendant of Scythe, and may be the only person who can kill the Hephaestus.
Coalition for Robotic Freedom:
The Coalition for Robotic Freedom is a militant group of robots lead by End Owl. These robots declared war on Humanity in 20XX shortly after the Robot Tournament. End Owl is a part of a new generation of robots with evolving Artificial Intelligence. He can experience all emotions that a human can, however, he has the ability to turn this aspect of his programming off so that he can kill without remorse. He was designed by Dr. Menata, who wished to create a new generation of robots that can benefit mankind, like his hero, Dr. Light. However, things didn't go as planned.
End Owl began his rebellion when he defeated Clef in the Robot Tournament. The audience demanded blood when End Owl spared Clef, but he refused to do so. He was so disgusted with this that he went to war with humanity to weed out those who will not obey his will and live in his 'perfect world'. End Owl and a small group of battle robots assaulted a military installation and made it their base of operations. They launched missiles at most of the major metropolitan areas of the world to try and kill the world leaders of the Humans, and leave them in disarray.
It is believed that the Hephaestus will travel back to this war and use his advanced technology to tip it in his favor. For it is at the same time during End Owl's War that the Stardroids begin their invasion of Earth.
First Invasion:
Sunstar was unearthed by Dr. Wily several years before End Owl's War. Since the robot was too advanced for Dr. Wily, he set him aside to work on other projects. Several months before the war, Dr. Wily fixed Sunstar so that he could function once more. Sunstar gave Dr. Wily everything he needed so that he could rebuild the Milky Way Stardroids, who were killed centuries earlier.
Terra, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto were rebuilt. Besides Zero, they were the strongest creations of Dr. Wily, and he tested their abilities to prove their strength to the ancient Stardroid he dug up. Sunstar was impressed with Dr. Wily's work, and uploaded the original AI of each of his comrades into the new bodies Dr. Wily built. With the Milky Way Stardroids ready, Sunstar was ready to invade Earth.
Several months after his comrades were rebuilt, Sunstar felt tremors. Missiles were detonating in the city not too far from Dr. Wily's Laboratory, and new that this was the perfect time to strike. The Stardroids armed themselves and prepared to swoop in and strike at Earth's forces while the squabbled amongst themselves.
The Knights of Xylbian fear that the Hephaestus intends to travel back in time and put itself at the disposal of Sunstar. They know that Rockman will not stand a chance against the android from the future. If the warriors of this age cannot destroy it with the advanced technology at their disposal, then surely the archaic robotics of Dr. Light will not be able to defeat the Hephaestus.

Some more insights on the characters involved in the event:
Ryuta
Becomes a vigilante in an attempt to distract Diablo and Nightmare and draw attention away from the Hephaestus. His only concern for this operation is whether his actions will alter the past far worst that what's to come.
Atsushi
A member of Strike's Ball and Chain gang. He managed to assert himself by raiding Diablo's prison ward and escaping with half their provisions. Though the rest of the gang objects to their new member, Strike sees him as the best weapon next to his own groove-tron abilities. His only concern is Pinky, whose medium abilities could get him into serious trouble.
Shinta
Spends most of his time working community service at Burger Dog while keeping a spiritual watch for Agent 47 and other important contract killers that could be hired or draiined of ther soul by the Hephaestus. He also keeps tabs on Dr. Menata himself, making sure he doesn't come to too much harm.
Hayato
While he doesn't fully involve himself in the past, he has sent a Wily drone, which he recovered from a ruined castle deep in the wastelands of Vi'lal, to keep the original's Robot Masters in check. He somehow managed to con the real Wily to retreat to solitude for the duration of the Coalition War, leaving the drone in charge of giving orders. Zero is the only Robot Master who suspects something isn't right, but has no way of proving it to his cynical brothers.
Hajime
Despite multi-tasking between finding essence and warning the Time Elemental, he spends most of his time seeiing through the eyes of his mecanical panda. He plans to have the panda join the Coalition, using some mildly advanced weaponry and fast agility to keep attention away from the Hephaestus. Should he get into the Coalition, his only hope is keeping Sorrow Phantom from exposing his plans, which could either get him destroyed or dismantled for observation.
Kaoru
His intentions and whereabouts are currently unknown. He was last seen chasing after the Hephaestus in an attempt to delay his arrival to 20XX and buy everyone else time to prepare. How he'll fair is currently unknown.

Other important characters to the event-
Current RP Characters
Leo
Head of the Xylbian task force sent back in time. He is currently enrolled in the Megalopolis Academy, a private school. He goes by the name Arthur Macheath at this school in order to keep his cover. The school is conveniently located near Dr. Light's lab, so he is able to monitor what happens there.
Lixus
Leo's assistant and nun of the Knights of Xylbian. She is enrolled at the megalopolis Academy as well and works with Leo to watch the Lights. Her alias is Elizabeth Macheath.
Cole
A monk of the Temple of Xylbian. Since he loathes school, he did not join Lixus and Leo in the academy. He has become a vigilante and hangs around downtown Megalopolis, keeping tabs of what goes on in the city's underworld. He is monitoring Diablo with the help of Model D.
Frightman
Now that he has sided with the Temple of Xylbian, Frightman has taken on the role of guarding the safe house for the time travelers who have come back to stop Hephaestus. He is in charge of making sure no one catches onto what they are planning, and making sure beings like Titan don't come back through time.
Dianna
The High-Priestess of Xylbian did not go back in time. She is currently in Lux trying to patch up relations with Star Isle.
Aest
Aest has traveled back through time with his friends. Through Odamaru's elven magic, he has taken on a human disguise. He owns a house across from the Dr. Light's lab and poses as Leo's and Lixus' father. He is currently watching Dr. Light and making sure no evil approaches his complex. His alias is Duke Macheath.
The Thirteen
Hex, Cato, Scythe, Gresnik, and Jyro have separated upon reaching 20XX and are currently scouring the Earth for any signs of the Hephaestus. They keep spiritual tabs on the important figures of the time in order to help them in tracking the Hephaestus.
Odamaru
Odamaru has taken no formal role in the task of the Hephaestus. He appears every now and then at Aest's home and gives him information or money in order to help their cause. He has been seen lurking around unsavory places in Megalopolis.
Hiro
Hiro has taken up a teaching position in the Megalopolis Academy. Odamaru helped him forge some papers on his residency and past academics. However, Hiro was blindsided when he found out that Odamaru got him a teaching position as a gym teacher. Much to his dismay, many of the woman at the school swoon over him. Whenever he isn't teaching, he meditates to try and keep tabs on Nightmare. His alias is Ryozo Ito.
20XX RP Characters
Ragnarock
Rock's evil doppelganger was defeated by Soundman and did not take this defeat graciously. He has approached End Owl, and has been accepted into the ranks of the Coalition.
End Owl (20XX)
End Owl resides in a strange, new crystal-like fortress which appeared one day on the island where his old complex resided. His will has drawn in many new robots who will fight to death for his cause. A new tournament will soon be held by him; the Tournament of Endings.
Neo Coalition Eight
The Coalition Eight is End Owl's answer to the Robot Masters. The old Coalition Eight was disbanded one day, and the Neo Coalition Eight has formed. The new robots that compose this group of warriors are advanced war robots; maybe too advanced for 20XX...
Fear Spider (20XX)
One of Dr. Menata's robots. He disappeared one day after he helped save some of End Owl's prisoners. No one knows if he escaped End Owl's Island alive.
Fury Falcon (20XX)
One of Dr. Menata's robots. Fury Falcon was recently activated to try and thwart End Owl's plans. He has been installed with a powerful anti-virus program to try and protect him from what may have caused End Owl to go insane.
Sorrow Phantom (20XX)
One of Dr. Menata's robots. He is still in the prototype phase, but is dangerously powerful. Sorrow Phantom is attuned to the spiritual world and resonates with a supernatural energy. Dr. Menata has called this energy, Essence.
Dr. Menata
A young roboticist who aspires to be just like Dr. Light. However, his creations only seem to bring about death and destruction rather than peace. He has a wife and daughter and currently has relocated to Megalopolis. He is currently mourning the death of Dr. Klink.
Soundman (20XX)
A sound-type robot. Soundman has the ability to manipulate sound to any degree. The once carefree and friendly robot has grown cold over the death of his creator, Dr. Klink. His wails echo through the night in Megalopolis, and cause anyone who hears him to burst into tears.
Nightmare (20XX)
The daemon that all know and fear is currently on the loose. He has been seen hanging around downtown Megalopolis, but as soon as he is seen, he disappears.
Frightman (20XX)
Frightman is growing increasingly more insane. With each act of violence towards humanity, he seems to crawl deeper into the depths of Madness. He has been seen in a broken down amusement park outside Megalopolis.
Diablo (20XX)
Diablo has grown impatient with the lack of help from the Megalopolis Task Force. He demanded to be put in charge of law enforcement for the city after someone broke into his prison. He was granted this, and now heads both the Megalopolis Penitentiary and Task Force. His robotic soldiers patrol the streets of Megalopolis. Fear has returned order to the city, for the most part.

More key characters in the 20XX era.
Dr. Light
The lead inspiration of robotic technology in 20XX. Over the years, he has been responsible for creating robots with the ability to interact with humans.
His next step was to update the thinking process of the robots, but after leaks of his blueprints reached other scientists, and witnessing the results of their immature spin-offs, he locked the key ingredients of the technology in a computer that can only be accessed by one of his robots. Which robot carries the password is currently unknown.
Clef
A replacement of the first prototype, free-thinking robot created by Dr. Light. Despite being christened with this name, he and the rest of Dr. Light's robots have come to call him a member of the family. When word of a new tournament reached all broadcasting signals, Dr. Light pleaded with Clef not to get involved. But Clef insisted that he join the tournament as atonment for his lack of commitment to protect his family when they needed it the most.
Rock
The second creation of Dr. Light, recreated into a fighting robot for the sake of mankind. Believing End Owl's free-thinking program has caused him to look at humans as feral beasts, he joins Clef in the tournament, hoping to confront and reason with the Menata reploid about the true meaning of humanity.
Roll
Third creation of Dr. Light and younger sister of Rock. Though fitted with fighting capabilities, she chose to stay at the lab and help clean up the mess caused by the previous war.
The eight Robot Masters of Dr. Light
Originally created for use in construction and nature preservation, these eight Robot Masters spend most of their time hanging out at Dr. Light's Lab and helping him and Rock deal with everyday dangers. They are Cutman, Elecman, Fireman, Gutsman, Iceman, Bombman, Timeman, and Oilman. Fireman is currently missing, while Bomb, Guts, and Elec volunteer to help Rock and Clef enter the new tournament. The rest are currently off on patrol of the city, repairing and making no new damage has emerged during End Owl's next phase of operation.
Zero
A near exact doppelganger of Clef, minus the full free-thinking program as Wily has implanted some restraints to keep him from going mad with destruction. He has little care of what goes on around him and prefers to just sit at the castle and watch TV with the other brain-dead (As he calls them) Robot Masters.
Pinky (Diamond)
A fortune-telling contract killer who holds several factions. Her whereabouts are mysterious as she tends to pop up whenever she thinks her assistance is needed.
Strike
Leader of the Ball and Chains gang, though their taste in provisions is a tad unorthodox as they only break into banks and other expensive places to raid their kitchens and bathrooms using toy guns and smokebombs. Strike is the only member who can conjure up weapons out of nowhere with nothing more than a simple dance move.
He has recently gotten word of a new tournament being held in End Owl's new hideaway and, not one to be left out of the thrills and chills of free-for-all tournaments, takes his entire gang to sign up.
Hamm
Employee of the recently rebuilt Burger Dog. Fearing for the wellbeing of his job more than his life, Hamm has recently gotten the manager to hire some reinforcements other than the Burger Dogs' ability to hurl large hambugers at anyone who tries to raid their joint.
Heat
A freelancing dancer who wields fire at his own convienence. Having nothing better to do since the end of the first Coalition Wars, he volunteered to help Hamm protect the Burger Dog joint until the situation clears up. His spacious house has become an unfortunate hideout for Shinta, as he has no home to go to at the moment, and Strike's gang, despite his threats of burning their clothes off if they don't leave him alone.
Shorty
A high spirited young girl who is always accompanied by her pet mouse creature, Columbo. Despite what had happened recently, she continues to act like nothing fazes her. She's often seen wandering the streets of Megalopolis, looking for 8-track tapes to buy.

Some more important 20XX figures-
Blues
The prototype robot that was created through a joint effort of Dr. Light and Dr. Wily. Blues, however, didn't act as his creators planned. He took some things from their lab and left one day, without telling a soul. Some believe his programming is a prototype to a free-will A.I. Others like to believe that Blues has simply fallen victim it 'Wanderlust'. Either way, Blues never stays in one place.
As usual, Blues has decided to take up a neutral position in the war with End Owl. However, after hearing about his tournament, Blues knew that he would have to enter it. For the sake of humanity, Blues felt that his brothers would need his guidance during this time of peril.
Sunstar
An archaic robot that was found by Dr. Wily. Sunstar is unlike any other robot on Earth. His armor is stronger than any metal, and his A.I. is extremely advanced for any normal robot. He is a Stardroid. After being restored, Sunstar agreed to cooperate with Dr. Wily.
The Rockman Killers have grown suspicious of Sunstar. Enker believes that Sunstar wishes to usurp Dr. Wily from power. Punk believes that Sunstar is just an ancient warrior who wishes to meet someone in combat that will offer him a challenge. Either way, Sunstar has become a very respected figure in the Wily Laboratory.
Enker
One of the formidable Rockman Killers. Enker has dedicated himself to learning every fighting style on Earth. He is an expert at hand-to-hand combat and basic weapons combat. Enker has proven to be a thorn in the side for many of the powerful warriors of 20XX, including the likes of Diablo and Nightmare. He wants nothing more than to prove that he is the strongest, after being defeated by Rock.
Enker was elated when he heard of End Owl's tournament. He wanted to participate without giving a second though. Enker knew it was his time to show his worth as Wily's strongest robot.
Punk
The powerhouse of the Rockman Killers. Punk is considered to be too kind by the other Robot Masters. For this, he is ridiculed by his militant brothers, Enker and Forte. However, Punk has always felt that violence is not the only end to a means. This does not mean that he won't fight. If his brothers are in danger, or if he is given an order to do so, Punk will fight.
Punk was not pleased when he heard about End Owl's tournament. He has decided not to participate, and has went into Megalopolis to try and give the Light Robots a helping hand in reconstruction.
Milky Way Stardroids
The Milky Way Stardroids, eight powerful extraterrestrial robots who were rebuilt by Dr. Wily after he discovered Sunstar. The Stardroids each differ in personality and beliefs, but all are madly devoted to Sunstar.
Terra and Jupiter are the exception to this.
Terra
The leader of the Stardroids, Terra, is a formidable opponent in combat. He does not like seeing other beings in pain, but knows that he must fight in order to preserve his own existence. Terra feels that the Light robots are the only ones strong enough to defeat Sunstar. He believes that if Sunstar were defeated in combat, he would see the error in his ways, and stop his conquest in the name of the Stardroid people.
Jupiter
Jupiter wants to be a hero, someone that others could look to for guidance. Because of this, he has a very strong sense of justice, and believes that what Sunstar strives to accomplish is wrong. He has voiced his opinions on the matter, and Sunstar had this to say,
"Enter the Tournament of Endings and win. If you survive, you may return and challenge me. If you can defeat me, then I will stop trying to conquer this dirt ball."
Jupiter knew what he had to do. His heart is now set on winning End Owl's tournament, so that he may prove himself worthy enough for Sunstar to fight.
