Eh, I don't like FPS that much either. I like Halo 2 and some of the GCN James Bond games, but I won't go farther than that. To sum it up, war games get unoriginal, so I don't like them too much. That's why I like non-military FPS, those that are original like Halo2 and James Bond. Metroid Prime 2 is also cool, and I like the multiplayer.

Kyle, what about Half-Life 2 or Doom 3? Those games are awesome, and both scare the shit out of me occasionaly.

They both look good, I've just never played them.

Then you are missing out. They are like a party in your mind, and all the coke heads were invited.

I see that, Gen. I see that....
So where is your stand on the Metroid Prime series, Gen? It isn't a platformer.

Me? Metroid was my only favored Nintendo series. It looks alright, but I am not buying it. I will have my little brother buy it. I am saving up for the new Morrowind game that is coming out on the 360.

Using the old "Have my little brother get it, so I can play it" trick? Too embarassed to get it yourself? It will ruin your ego? *sigh* I've just realized that my older brother does that to me. Oh well..

Yeah, I like platformers for the stories mostly, or just cause I happen to be making a sprite comic about it so I should play the games at least. The only other Genre of games I try are Fighting games, 'cause I suck at them, but thats only 'cause I play people who are like state and national champions of the game.
FPS's are just... boring. Its all strafing and hoping you hit the person, 'cause the crosshairs are totally useless. All fps's are exactly the same with different weapons. I guess you can say that about all games though, 'cause all fighting games are basically the same but with different characters, and platformers are the same, but at least with fighting games and platformers, you can have a different play expirience, 'cause the controls for each game aren't totally the same, if not completely different with each other. But with FPS's, it literally is when you play one, you've played them all.

I wouldn't say that all FPS games are the same.
Half-Life 2 gives you the gravity gun, and you can hurl anything from a magazine to a washing machine at your enemies. Plus it is FP throughout the whole game! Even when you are the friggin' vehicles.
Doom 3 has the fabled BFG, and is more complex than strafing and shooting. Throughout the level, you could be being chased by one monster that jumps out of the shadows and attack you. The rooms are always dark, and there is always the sounds of a breathing demon dog around you at all times. The sounds of its foot steps getting closer, then the sound of it lunging at you.
Quake 4 is as creepy as Doom 3, since both were made by ID. However, during one level, you get to watch yourself get mutilated by the alien enemies, as they turn you into one of them.
And there are many other FPS games that make the genre fun. Nonetheless, blowing the stuffing out of someone never gets old. Waiting for your turn in an RPG... Boring.

You don't wait your turn in all rpgs. But even with that as the case, I prefer action/rpgs the best.

You points were very good Gen, until you said "blowing the stuffing out of someone never gets old"
I don't quite agree with that. If you hadn't said that, you would be proving great points..

How does blowing the stuffing out of someone get old, Kyle?

If it's with the same gun, in the same battle field, against the same Nazis, yes it does. (Remeber, I'm mostly against the war FPS. I don't have that much against the others)
