video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6405445518216376043&q=dsMy lord.... I know this world has a lot of Nintendo haters, but this guy just pisses me off. Sure, another DS vs. PSP arguement, there's a lot of those, but this guy is just retarded. He thinks he's backing things up with facts. "DS as bad games. PSP as good games." Int he side-text it he even says "Nintendo has to make something innovative like the PSP." .....-_-' This guy's biased. PSP is not AS innovative as the DS. I'm not going to be biased, I respect Sony alot, PSP is innovative. But to say "NINTENDO has to make something INNOVATIVE LIKE THE PSP" is just fucking retarded. After he says that, he goes on to say PSP has a wide screen, better, graphics, etc. How the hell is that innovative? In the video, he keeps saying things like 'DS has two screens, big deal. Touch screen, big deal. You can't watch movies on it!" I SORTA respect his views, but he's so godamn biased, it's not even funny. I don't care if you aren't a Nintendo fanboy or not (Gen, Zaku, etc.) atleast you guys aren't biased. Sure, I could say a lot of bad things about the PSP, but I know there are good things too....*sigh*

!!! Woah, I just posted a rant on my blog at the same time! cttp.blogspot.com/Christ, that's weird. Among the things he says: "The DS is a 19 year old system." "Why would you pay...$300 for a DS? It's just- It's just a 19-year old system." ($300. Wow. I'm sure glad I got mine while it was $150.) "Pretty much...PRETTY MUCH the same ammount of memory. Might be a little higher, I don't know." (WTF is memory, and how does it relate to a handheld's power at all) "...And, it has the highest picture. I, I heard that on the news." (Why don't you try BUYING a system instead of relying on what you hear? Mindless dumbass.) "Check out this game, it's call GTA. It's a fantastic game. And...They don't have that on the DS. Look it up. Check, check Google. Google that folks, if you don't believe me." (Right...That's one game. And what do we have on the DS? Mario Kart, Nintendogs, Castlevania, Kirby, Mario 64 DS, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime Hunters, Meteos, Phoenix Wright, Tetris DS...The list goes on.) I'll edit more when I come back from lunch.

Gen, even you can't deny the fanboyininityism of that guy. And since when were we fretting? You should see Nsider. This thing is the ONLY topic of discussion right now over there...

Still, why should you give a shit about the opinion of a 30-something man who probably lives in his mom's basement? Besides, NSider is biased shit. X-Box Magazine at least gives kudos to Sony and Nintendo.

About the only thing that guy failed to compare with the DS and PSP is the price point. He must have pulled every last coin out of places where money usually hides to get something as pricy as the PSP. DS probably wouldn't have mercy on someone's piggy bank, but it's at least $150 less than what Sony shells out.
But I'm just going to agree on both systems for several "listed" reasons:
PSP (Most of these may not be true, I just hear them from several resources) = Graphics are slightly better than DS, but still PS1 quality. Allows you to watch videos, but only in a UMD form (Did I mention the PSP eats up battery power faster than the DS...I'm not going to ask if it has a rechargable battery stuck in it). There are a few good games out there, such as Lumines, GTA, Mercury, Maverick Hunter X and MegaMan Powered Up. There is no touch screen, though it's not going to stop Sony fans from shelling out two of their paychecks to get it. And you can go online with the PSP through wireless internet and download expansion packs from sites supporting the game you're playing. Some games don't have online capabilities, yet they have wireless multiplayer that can play from a certain amount of feet (I forgot how far).
DS = N64 graphics, but Nintendo tries to be better about it. Duel screen, though the bottom gets more attention than the top when it comes to playing puzzle games like Meteos and Tetris DS. Most of the hyped games on the DS are just Nintendo titles, but there are other third-party companies trying to make good use of the duel screen (Some of them are rather poor). You can play GBA games on the DS, though GBC games have been left out for the SP. There isn't a lot of online features, though DS owners can play a single cartrage from a certain amount of feet, or over the internet through a WiFi connection (Sorry broadband owners...yes it was mostly directed at me).

Yah, PSP does have a rechargable batteries.
As far as I am concerned, I rather be playing on my laptop. Wireless internet access that far exceeds a PSP's. Runs on Windows, has graphics that can blow away PSP and DS. (GTA may be good, but Halo never gets old.) Plays DVDs, (I am watching Rocky right now as I post), iTunes, Paint, and all sorts of goodies. Screen is as large as a small TV, and is relatively light. Then there are always ROMs I could play on it. So yah, DS and PSP can kiss my Vaio's ass.

Not only was this guy biased, he said stupid things. "PSP has online gaming, wireless online gaming." The he ends it there, trying to hide the fact DS also has Wi-Fi. He also says "DS isn't portable" True, DS isn't portable, but has he even seen how big PSP is? And besides, DS Lite is out.
And Gen, that's sorta what I was thinking. It did kinda look like he was living in his mom's basement.

The DS and the PSP are pretty much the same in terms of size, the DS probably a little bigger (I've never held both side by side, but I've seen a PSP several times before). Both have their own things going for them. The PSP is flashy, can play music and all that jazz, and has an internet browser. The DS has a ton of great games already out there, and an internet browser on it's way. Only a dumbass would say one is better than the other.
And yeah, notice that the phone goes off two times during the video? That's despressing. Especially when you consider the fact that that guy owns NEITHER the PSP or the DS. "It's a fact, look it up." God, that got annoying. He doesn't own them, so he has to use what he hears on the news and forums as his data.

I've seen the a PSP demo display at a Playstation store at the Metro Plaza in San Francisco. If the flaps on the DS are open, it shows that the PSP is actually smaller in size.
