"Well, Frigus, how 'bout you start telling me what you do know?" Ace turned his attention completely away from the console in front of him and faced Frigus. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a cigarette from a box. He turned the box toward Frigus in an attempt to offer one to him.

Frigus stares blankly at the box of cigarettes. "... Right... Well..." He presses his right hand against his head, covering the bottom half of his face. He then put his hand down. "... A few days ago, they first appeared. I was walking home and they appeared as I was walking through an allyway. I turned around and ran, and they gave up when I headed towards a street with people in it. Pretty much the same thing happened this time, except it was entirely bad luck that there weren't any people when they appeared."

Ace smirked as he stuck his cigarette in his mouth and put away the box he was holding. "Bad luck this time?... Kid, you are sitting in my baby, Rose Shot. This mech has seen more combat in space that you have seen in your entire life! Besides, ground troops are next to pointless when attacking a mech. We are completely safe now."
"Don't jinx it," chimed in the female voice.

"No, I didn't mean that. It was bad luck that they had an opportunity to attack me, since I was intentionally trying to stay on the normal route," Frigus explained. "... I got really lucky to run into you, though. If it was just about anyone but a mech pilot, I'd probably be dead right now..."

"We are not out of the woods yet, kid," said Ace, "Rose Shot is low on power and ammunition. I was merely on a recon mission, I didn't prepare for a speedy escape and fight. That, and Rose Shot is a sniping unit."
"Correct," said the female voice as the hologram appeared before Frigus, "I am designed for long range combat. We will only need to worry for our safety if a melee-class mech attacks."
The radio began to hiss with static as another woman's voice came over it, "Ace..!" exclaimed the voice.
"What is it, Commander Gale?" asked Ace.
"There are reports of the Envoy Gresh'nikal in your area. You are the only one stationed on that planet; everyone else is helping the Drakens on Domestica," said the woman.
Ace growled as he rubbed his chin, "I have a civilian, Dianna."
"Then he can help you. Dianna out."
The radio buzzed as it turned off. Ace lowered his head and sighed in annoyance.

"... A... Gresh'nikal?" Frigus says, thinking back to some vague news reports he had read somewhere.

"Gresh'nikal is one of the more notorious members of the Vessh'kul's elite guard. There are six in all: Azz'kal the Guardian, Zen'zen the Plague Bringer, Tula'tahj the False Voice, Heg'aska the Face Stealer, Deko'tasa the Hollow One, and Gresh'nikal the Bone Snatcher," said Ace.
"These six Vessh'kul envoys are known to bring chaos and death wherever they go. Gresh'nikal is one of the baddest bastards out there, kid. Unfortunately for us, we need to find him and stop him. An envoy on a human inhabited planet is never a good sign, especially if it is the Bone Snatcher."

"If you want to complain, I am sure your friends would oblige to take you back home," said Ace, "Y'know, the ones that were shooting at you?"
"Initiating heat scan of the area, Ace," said the female hologram.
"Good, tell me if the bastard pops up anywhere," said Ace.

Ace growled, "Mess up? Mess up!? Your lack of faith in my abilities disturbs me, kid. I specialize in squishing these bugs. The day I meet a Vessh'kul I can't kill is the day the FSA surrenders its land to the elves and undeath."

"Not only denying the possibility, but denying the very thought of it!" exclaimed Ace, "Now, let's get this show on the road."
"Come in! I repeat: come in!" grunted Gresh'nikal. He was standing in an alleyway--his hands soaked with blood. The dead body of a human soldier was lying beside him; the head was smashed in at the top, and his spine was sticking out. The heavy scent of fresh blood filled the air.
Gresh'nikal smashed his small radio against the wall behind him, causing various metal shards to fall to the ground. He was a giant creature, wearing ebony plate armor with silver trimmings. A large cloak hung from his shoulders. Horns protruded from the sides of his helmet. The crest of the Vessh'kul was styled into his cape.
"Damned be the Guardian! He has stranded me on this infernal world!" he exclaimed, "I must find a way out... Before any FSA scum can find me...!"

Frigus turned away. 'Let's just hope this doesn't go horribly wrong... And that this guy knows what he's doing...' He thought to himself.
Gician checked the device attached to his arm momentarily. 'All units are accounted for...' He thought, as he left the scene.

"Ace, I have detected a Vessh'kul presence approximately two kilometers east of here," said the female hologram.
Ace smirked, "Let's hope it is that fat, stinkin' bug! If it is just a gang of lesser bugs, I will be severely disappointed." He squeezed the two control sticks his was holding onto, and pulled one back and pushing the other forward.
The mech began to turn, slowly but surely.
"Power reserves down to fifteen percent," said the female hologram.
Gresh'nikal looked about the area wearily. He then looked down to the dead human and chuckled to himself. He grabbed the human by his exposed spine and began to head deeper into the alleyway.
