Well, heres something you can use for good reference on how I do it,my main lesson in life, always tinker. Hardly detailed but I threw it together in about ten minutes when a pal was fretting over early spriting.

Well it helps to start off with a very vivid idea of the woman your trying to create, also helps to have a female base if possible, when not work first on stripping the sprite of most of its features, then gradually resculpt the body, like for example trimming the shoulders down, this way you don`t have to worry about muddling up details, then gradually build on that bare frame with whats in your minds eye,as for the female face, thats a very difficult thing to master and its beyond me.

I hate to sound perverted. But it's the chest that throws me off. I can never make it look believable.

Yea the chest is difficult, for me its never the size, but the angle is what gets me,despite the size I always try to fit it in without bringing the chest out more than a pixel or two to the side.Vertical spacing is more important when making a chest.

Problem for me is that I can find almost no bases to mess around with.

I`ll give a recommendation for you then, for practicing the female form, for the NeoGeo Pocket colour theres a game called Gals Fighter, full of fighting game girls, its high quality 8-bit sprites, the perfect bases to work with,I`m a tinkerer by nature,I actually dislike making scratch sprites, done many but never enjoyed it as much as simple tinkering. Sunako being a simple product of messing around with an Athena sprite.

Same with me. I'm a great editor but cant create from shit. Also I thought I saw Felicia's head on your last sheet. I guess i was right.

Well was looking for the biggest hair possible, don`t think I`ve used Felicias body for any character though, just nothing useful with it.

I don't really dabble in Neo Geo stuff though. I need Megaman style sprites. If you find any bases like that let me know.

Well theres a good public domain sheet on The Peoples Sprites that has some 32-bit female reploids, course breasts are hardly an issue when it comes to armour.

Never heard of it. I used to be able to find all kinds of shit on shyguy. But I can't find anything since they changed the format. I'll try the BnG forums.
