The new design is amazing. (For Sonic sprites, mostly they're just recolors) Great job, Kyle.

It does look really nice. I really hate those things in the game, 'cause they're so annoying, and I can't get close enough to kill Dizzy... Yeah...but some of the Ice moves are a bitch to make. Hence I'm not an "expert" at Photoshop, all of the layering and transparency can be hard. But after awhile, it comes out okay. Thanks Cutter. Me no like recolors. Me kill recolors.

From Recolorized to Customized! It's taking awhile to redo the whole sheet, but I love the change. It's totally worth doing. You guys should like it too.

I'm still constructing the new design for Volt. It's going great. I'm currently in the process of making him look more serious, and alittle older. The cartoony Sonic style just isn't cutting it for me. I'll probably edit this post with a pic when I'm down, unless people start posting here.

Scratch that. I need your guys help/suggestions. It's going to be hard to make the elemental sprites without starting completely over. And I'm lazy. But now I've noticed, it's not just lazyness, it's logical. Wouldn't your shirt (probably quicker and more frequent then pants) get ruined/destroyed if you suddenly burst in flames, were surrounded by electricity, or frozen in several inches in ice? I need suggestions. Should I make sprites of him ripping or taking off his shirt? (I've planned to keep the pants on. They look good.) Or should I just make a sprite of the shirt burning/disentrgrating when he uses fire or electricity?
No matter what you pick, it's going to be hard to sprite.

Couldn't his powers have it so his clothes are spared? I mean he WAS a god at one point.

I'm planning to make a comic strip about Volt and other Sonic styled friends. I'll rewrite his history for that. He's not/never has been a god. That was my roleplay character, who, technically, was Kyle, not Volt, since Kyle died and had his soul transformed into the body of Volt.

Oh. Well I can't really say which I'd choose. But the shirt ripping would give off more of a badass feel, whereas the shirt burning thing would make him seem slightly evil.

Haven't worked on Volt in a while, cause I don't really sprite anymore. Anywho, since it's dead-quiet here I felt the need to just post the last design I made a while back. (....yes, those are antennae.) They aren't so awesome, but it's better than the recolor Volt started as. It's also better than the crappy recolors/"edits" that n00bs on Drunkduck nowadays have. For those who don't know, among "spriters" (n00bs) on DD, making Sonic comics is the whole new thing. Nobody makes Megaman comics anymore. Everyone has a Sonic or Pokemon comic. Maybe I'll post in some other threads, or start new threads, if this quietness and boredom continues. Meh.

Hehe, not bad. I really don't like sprites anymore, just because they're totally riddling DD and SJ, but these look pretty decent. Although I might just be saying that because I know you and if I saw that in a comic for the first time I'd probably get really angry.
The problem with sonic sprites is that they are very very very uncustomizable. You can do just about nothing to the sprites to make them different. Even Sonic Team has trouble making new characters. Mephiles being a complete shadow recolor is a perfect example.

Iris killed my drive to do sprite work. But I found a way around it.

College has put my comic on hold (again). Not to mention the fact that Redwaters' guest comic is still in progress (even though she mentioned not continuing it, it's explaining it to those who contributed that's making me more reluctent to stop the "surprise celebration of my 100th strip" and continue with my original storyline).

Yeah, College has totally put all my comics on hold. I think its because all my classes at once asked for homework that acutally has to be turned in. I'll see what i can do in spring break, 'cause, being the nerd I am, I'm going to be probably staying home the whole time.

Nam: Yeah, I don't like sprites much either. That's why I'm learning to draw.
And Sonic sprites get difficult on the higher levels. A lot of spriters on DD have the thought process of "if I recolor his chest into a shirt and his legs into pants, that makes him look good." If you hadn't noticed, Nam, you seemed to have started a new trend or something on DD. Like I said, there are almost no Megaman comics anymore. Sonic's the whole new thing.
Zaku: You always seem to find a way around things...
