I have Kirby on my Deviant Art already. It's actually the very first thing I drew, but not quite in style that my drawings are in now.

Yeah, but, it's really easy to draw a strange-looking Kirby. It can't literally be just a circle with stubs.

... Well, yeah, you can draw it badly, but it's better to start drawing with something simple than something complicated.

Of course.
But, despite it all, drawing Kirby isn't really going to help with drawing skills. Kirby isn't going to teach you about human proportions, or expressions, or clothing detail, or poses, etc.
Really, if you're talking about getting something out of it, the only general benefit from drawing Kirby would be to practice colors and shading.

I used to draw Dragonball Z characters all the time when I was younger. That helped me a helluva lot more than Kirby.

Pathetically, when I was younger, I'd buy How to Draw books (for Pokemon, Digimon, Nintendo, DBZ, etc.) and just trace the final product.

When I was younger, I almost bought that book on "How To Draw Manga" until I skimmed it and realised it wasn't really manga.
