Why? I'll tell you why. Complainers. All they do is just fucking complain about the shitty voice acting, the shitty story, the "shitty" new characters, and the things that offended "feminists". Nothing else, not even the gameplay. A "real" gamer would just love a game by gameplay and replay value. You see kiddies, video games are meant to stimulate the mind by doing shit, not meant to be your "KAWAII NO DESU ANIME~~~ ^_________^" bullshit type of thing.

Why you ask? Because one day I was browsing around DA and I saw this person's journal, it read and by quote:
Uhh... yeah, the game is called "Sonic Rivals" Not "Sonic R for PSP"
Because all the characters in it are rivals to each other. For the secret character in the game I was hoping Nack to be in it, but nope it's Metal Sonic (Who still kicks ass by the way) I can live with it if Nack did not get in the game, that's fine with me. I can also live with it if Bomberman did not get into Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Dude you hate Amy, and you wished she was in it? That's total confusion there. You really are a feminist.
Also I do not want to hear this from people who have played Sonic and the Secret Rings for the Wii in spring, "OMFG!!!11 WHERE IS MAH [insert Sonic character here] S/HE IS MAH GF/BF I LOVE HIM/HER SO MUCH!!!111" Dude Sega just want Sonic alone in the game, can't you see that this is the best idea that Sega has ever pulled from their past games, right next to bringing the Chaotix back on Sonic Heroes. So if you know it's going to suck then don't complain, and just ignore it. Jesus Christ people, you get all upset over shit when Sega started to slump.
