It's not designed as an RPG, so don't expect it to be one. If you like Mario platformers, get it.

I do like Mario platformers. But this one screams to me "a platformer that tries to pose as an RPG"
I just feel uneasy they put it under the Paper Mario series. Why not just make a regular Mario platformer?

Because Intelligent Systems can only make such creative visuals with paper apparantly.

They already have. New Super Mario Bros. And Galaxy's coming out this year, too. Super Paper Mario is just filling the gap.
Besides, the whole 2-D to 3-D thing wouldn't work unless they used Paper Mario visuals.

I'm getting Super Paper Mario, simply because I'm a die-hard Mario fan. Besides, I think this is the first action RPG Mario gets.

It shouldn't even be CALLED an RPG. The only 2 RPG elements are items (which, except for healing ones, are rarely used,) and a "party." Wow, you have 4 characters. Three of which are next to useless. They say you basically only need to use Mario.

Score=Experience, thus allowing level ups, increasing stats.
NPCs, which you don't ordinarily see in a platform.
The party consists of more than four people, unless you don't see the Pixls very useful. Even so, an RPG doesn't require a party. Just look at Final Fantasy XIII.
Items, as you've mentioned. Wether they're used or not, they're there.
I suppose they're basic foundations of an action RPG. Mainly, a starter action RPG, like the rest of the Paper Mario series has been.

Paper Mario=RPG
Super Paper Mario=Action RPG.
How many times must I say it?

If you want my hippy Mii, just go ahead and ask. Because, you know... I look like a hippy and am told constantly by my family to get a haircut.

Be my guest and send it over. I won't care.
Sure, some time, monthes from now, I might delete it, but it may give me a chuckle.

Arg. My Wii's fucked up with the internet. It can't find the USB Connector for some reason. Damn, the Wii's where I watch anime because of the tv having a larger screen than the computer. That, and I don't wanna look weird in front of my family.
