I'm fairly certain that everyone here is aware of the genocide going on in Darfur.

This might seem like a dumb thing to rant about to some of you, but I can't be the ONLY one here who is concerned that 500 people in Africa are dying each day from malnutrition and African militias. And if you think I'm lame for posting this, go to hell.
Haven't we learned anything from the Holocaust? There is a genocide going on right now, and we're just standing by and letting it happen. A specified group of people are because killed, raped and kept away from the resources needed to survive.
How does the world respond? Well, Bush has sent some 40 tons of food, created a peace treaty and sent $440 million to help out. That's great, but 500 people are dying each day. The government has noticed this issue, but to stop these people from getting massacred, the peace treaty must be enforced. The UN wants to send some forces there, but that could take 6-8 months to be put into action.
It's just infuriating that the world stands by and lets this happen. It's human nature, just be aware of it, do something tommorow, then forgot about it altogether. But there are REAL PEOPLE dieing out there, and pictures and videos can't capture the horror that's going on over there. This is a real genocide, and yet the world is at peace, because the only country involved in this crisis is Africa. We're not at war, we shouldn't get involved. Just let all those people get killed. Yeah, that's fine.
That's exactly what's going on. I can't be the only one that thinks that that's horrible.
